Eamonn Salmon MCSP

Resize E frontEamonn trained and qualified as a Physiotherapist in Newcastle in 1983 and has undertaken various roles within the profession since initially undergoing rotations at Burnley General Hospital for 3 years. He then embarked on a period of travel which took him to Toronto Canada, Gibraltar and the Middle East. It was while working as Senior I in Orthopaedics in Jeddah that he was summoned to administer treatment to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and spent 3 months with his entourage in Morocco before returning to hospital based work in Jeddah once again.

On leaving he took up a position of Senior I back in the North East of England before moving to Plymouth to undertake a similar role. Whilst working there he was offered the position of Physiotherapist to Plymouth Argyle FC under David Kemp and then Peter Shilton.

After two seasons in Division I he was then offered the post of Physiotherapist at Manchester City FC under Peter Reid, and later working with Brian Horton and the late Alan Ball. After 4 years there he felt the time was right to establish his own Private Practice, north of Manchester and subsequently built up one of the largest Private Practices of its kind in the area.

Having worked in this Practice for 15 years he felt that he now had time and business expertise to undertake a different venture which led him to back to football, albeit in a different capacity. Having made contact with several Physiotherapist still in the game and following a fruitful meeting with England physio, Gary Lewin, and Dr Ian Beasley from the FA, he set about establishing the League Medical Association.

Eamonn has two children, Broden and Caelan, aged 11 and 7. He was a keen amateur footballer playing in the North West Counties League as a youngster and now plays occasional golf.
